Heavy Rain: IMD Issues Warning for Telangana Again

Heavy Rains Weather Alert | Hyderabad, Sept 4 (Maxim News):  The Indian Meteorological Department, Hyderabad has issued another warning to the people of Telangana who are reeling under heavy rain.

Heavy rains are likely to occur in many districts of the Telangana state on Wednesday, it said, heavy rains are likely in Asifabad, Mancherial, Jaya Jayashankar Bhupalpally, and Mulugu districts.  Adilabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam and Mahabubabad districts are likely to receive rain with gusty winds here and there.  Light to moderate rains will occur at some places in the state on Thursday and Friday, it said. 

Weather Alert

On Tuesday, 10 mandals received between 6-10 cm of rain, and 103 mandals received between 1.5 to 6 cm of rain.  The Meteorological Department said, that as of September 3, 1q48 mandals recorded maximum rainfall and 293 mandals recorded high rainfall.  While normal rainfall has been recorded in 170 mandals, deficit rainfall has been recorded in one mandal so far. 

It said that the highest rainfall was 8.8 cm in Shankarampet of Medak district and 8.7 in Kulcharam of the same district. 8.6 in Singapur of Sangareddy district, 9.1 in Tekmal of Medak district, and 8 cm in Papannapet.

On the other hand, the Indian Meteorological Department has released the monthly rainfall forecast for September. In this month, some districts and West and East Telangana are expected to receive less than normal rainfall, while other districts are likely to receive normal or more than normal rainfall.

It has been raining in many parts of Hyderabad since this morning.  While light showers are falling in many places, moderate rain is falling in other places.  As it is office hours, commuters are facing severe problems. (Maxim News)
