Heavy Rains For Another 48 Hours: IMD Alert 

Heavy Rains | Hyderabad, April 4 (Maxim News): Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to be alert to deal with the situation arising in Hyderabad City due to unseasonal rains.

He said that officials of all departments should be alert to take immediate relief measures to prevent people from facing any difficulties due to the flooding of many low-lying areas of the city due to heavy rains and strong winds.  He instructed the Chief Secretary of the State government, Shanti Kumari, to review the situation in the city from time to time. He advised that appropriate precautions should be taken to prevent people from facing any difficulties in low-lying areas. 

He directed that appropriate measures should be taken immediately in areas where water is standing on the roads, and that the GHMC, police, and HYDRA departments should work in coordination to avoid traffic problems and power outages.  He said that the problem should be resolved immediately in areas where power supply has been cut off and the supply should be restored.  He said that necessary relief measures should be taken for the people in the waterlogged colonies

The police should be on the ground and solve the traffic problem everywhere.  District collectors, police officials and all other department officials have been instructed to be alert as rains, strong winds and hailstorms are also occurring in many districts.  Of the top 100 areas with the highest rainfall, 90 are in Hyderabad.  The highest rainfall was recorded in Narayanpur in yadadri Bhuvanagiri district at 9.8 cm, officials said.

After that, 9.6 cm rainfall was recorded in Himayatnagar in Hyderabad, 9.45 cm in Dabirpura, 9.35 cm in Saroornagar, 9.43 cm in Nampally, and 9.43 in Musheerabad. 

Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rains are likely in Hyderabad today, and gusty winds of 40 to 50 kmph are expected across the state. 

IMD Issues 48-Hour Heavy Rainfall Warning for Telangana

The Meteorological Department has said that heavy rains will continue across the state for another two days.  The Hyderabad Meteorological Department has said that there will be heavy rains in yadadri, Rangareddy, Jangaon, Mahbubnagar, nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, Jogulamba Gadwal, Bhupalpally, Bhadradri, Mulugu, Khammam, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Hyderabad, medchal, Vikarabad, Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Siddipet districts.  It has also issued a yellow alert for the respective districts.  (Maxim News)
