Hyderabad, July 24, 2025 (Maxim News): For the second straight day, Telangana continued to be lashed by heavy to very heavy rains, disrupting normal life across several districts, particularly in the northern regions of the state.
According to the Hyderabad Meteorological Department, Bejjur in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district recorded the highest rainfall in the past 24 hours at 236.8 mm, followed by Venkatapuram in Mulugu district, which saw 218.5 mm.
Rains to Persist Until July 27
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued heavy rains and thunderstorms across all districts of Telangana until July 27. The persistent downpour may lead to waterlogging, local flooding, and traffic disruptions in low-lying areas.

Residents are advised to:
- Stay indoors unless necessary
- Avoid venturing into waterlogged areas
- Monitor official weather updates regularly
The ongoing spell of rain is attributed to an active southwest monsoon over the region, intensified by weather disturbances over the Bay of Bengal.
Impact on Daily Life
In several parts of Telangana:
- Roads were inundated, affecting vehicular movement
- Agricultural fields reported excessive water accumulation
- Power supply disruptions were noted in rural areas
Disaster response teams and local authorities are on alert to tackle any emergencies arising from the heavy downpour.
