Heavy to Very Heavy Rains In Telangana: Red Alert Issued

Hyderabad, Aug 31 (Maxim News): The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert for the state of Telangana due to the impact of low pressure in the Bay of Bengal. The severe depression formed in the central Bay of Bengal has turned into a gale today (Saturday) morning. Due to this, the IMD has issued a warning that there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains and very heavy rains across Telangana today and tomorrow.

Currently, the cyclone is continuing in the Bay of Bengal. It is likely to cross the coast in the coastal areas of Kalingapatnam, Visakhapatnam, and Gopalpur on Sunday morning.

In this background, heavy rains will occur in many districts of Telangana state, said the Meteorological Department. It has been revealed that many districts including Nalgonda, Nagar Kurnool, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba Gadwal, and Narayanapet will receive the heaviest rains. Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem Khammam and Suryapet districts are likely to receive heavy rains, it said.  heavy rains will occur in Mulugu and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts today.   It said during the passage of the cyclone there will be wind at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour in Telangana.  It has warned of strong winds.  To this extent, people should be alert and come out only if necessary.  (Maxim News)
