High Court Says It Cannot Stay Kaleshwaram Commission Report: Setback To KCR And Harish Rao

Hyderabad, Aug 22 (Maxim News):  Former chief minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao and former minister and MLA Harish Rao have suffered a setback in the Telangana High Court.  The High Court has made it clear that interim orders cannot be given on the kaleshwaram report.

The High court, which heard the petitions filed by KCR and harish Rao seeking to quash the PCGhosh commission report said that there is no need to grant a stay at this time as requested by the petitioners.  It said that interim orders cannot be given since there is a discussion in the Assembly.  

On this occasion, the High court has advised the government to immediately remove the PC Ghosh commission report if it is in the public domain.  It has ordered a counter with full details to be filed within three week,  The further hearing has been adjourned for four weeks.

During the hearing, Advocate General Niranjan Reddy, who argued on behalf of the commission in the High court, told the court that the Kaleshwaram Commission report would be tabled in the Assembly.  He said that action would be taken only after it is tabled in the Assembly.  He said that the government would take a decision after the discussion in the Assembly.  he said that the commission report would be discussed in the Assembly.  The AG said that the petitioners are two current MLAs.  he said that there are allegations of corruption against the petitioners.  Niranjan Reddy explained to the court that further action would be taken only after the discussion in the Assembly.  

The Chief Justice said that they have not received the commission report yet.  He criticized the uploading of the commission report on the website.  If it is on the website, he orders the government to immediately remove the report.  In this regard, the AG said that the government has not put the report anywhere in the public domain.  After hearing arguments from both sides, the High Court said that the stay sought by the petitioners cannot be granted as there is a discussion in the Assembly on the commission report.  The next hearing was adjourned for four weeks.
