High Court Took Up Hearing On The Allotment Of Lands To BRS Party Offices

Hyderabad, Aug 16 (Maxim News):  Telangana High Court has taken up the hearing on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) challenging the allotment of lands to ruling BRS party offices across the Telangana state.

A PIL was filed alleging that land was given by the government to the BRS party offices in the district including in Hyderabad city

During the hearing today, the petitioner’s lawyer Chikudu Prabhakar argued that the recent government land was sold to the public at Rs. 100 crores per acre, while the KCR government has allotted to his party office Rs. 100 per sq. yard.  The petitioner told the court that BRS Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao is not filing a counter in this case.  He objected that the counter is not being filed despite giving notices 16 months ago.

It was argued that if constructions are taken up on the lands allotted for the BRS party, it will cause trouble to the people.  He told the court that the sale was made for Rs. 100 crores to the public and Rs. 100 per sq. yard to the ruling TRS now BRS party.

The Bench made it clear that the BRS party will have to pay the same rate as the government land was sold to the people.  The Court reminded that Benchmark Judgment was to pay Rs. 100 crore per acre for the land taken.  The High Court adjourned the case for further hearing while directing the respondents to file a counter within three weeks.
