Himayat Sagar Inflows Surge, HMWSSB Warns of Flood Threat
Himayat Sagar | Hyderabad, Aug 18 (Maxim News): The HMWSSB on Monday issued a flood warning due to increasing inflows into Himayatsagar.
The water board is closely monitoring the situation as water levels continue to rise, prompting repeated alerts to ensure public safety, mainly for citizens living along the Musi River.
The Hyderabad water board has issued multiple flood warnings this month. The Monday alert happens to be the fourth following previous warnings on August 14, 15, and 16.
“Due to an increase in inflows, the releases from Himayat Sagar will be gradually increased to 6000 cusecs from 10.30 am onwards,” an official release stated.

Meanwhile, GHMC is monitoring the water levels in Hussain Sagar
Water level in Osman Sagar today against FTL 1790,00 ft. (3,900 TMC), the present level is 1787.10 ft. (3,242 TMC), the inflow is 1300.
Himayat Sagar, the water FTL 1763.50 ft (2,970 TMC), present level is 1762.q15 ft (2,631 TMC). Inflow is 1900 cusecs and outflow is 339 Cusecs. one gate opened for 1 ft. height.
At Hussain Sagar water at FTL level is 513.41 meters, MWL 514.75 meters, Present Water level is 513.61 meters. Status of inflows: 1873 Cusecs. Outflows 1438 cusecs. (Maxim News)
