Hyderabad, Aug 18 (Maxim News): Car owners are definitely using FASTag to pay tolls during their journeys. The central government has brought these to complete digital payments without stopping at toll plazas. Recently, it has also introduced an annual pass for just Rs. 3,000, allowing motorists to travel up to 200 trips per year. But now this system is being targeted by cyber criminals.
Criminals who have long targeted only stock market investments, crypto investments, credit cards, bank accounts, UPI payments, etc. have now turned their attention to FASTag users. The scammers are stealing money directly from their wallets. Many of the people who have been duped are already complaining to the cyber cell officials in this regard.
First, cybercriminals are sending fake messages to users in the name of FASTag. in them, they are threatening users that their FASTag account will be closed and they are asking them to update their KYC immediately to avoid this.
Moreover, they are suggesting that they click on the link they send to complete the process immediately. it turns out that if they mistakenly believe that the message they sent is genuine and click on the link, their wallet will be emptied. That is why cyber experts say that users should stay away from such fake messages. (Maxim News)
