Huge Withdrawal Of Nominations Including Gajwel

Hyderabad, Nov 15 (Maxim News): The deadline for withdrawal of nominations for the Telangana Assembly elections ended today. A large number of candidates have withdrawn their nominations.

Gajwel, where Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is contesting, has seen a record number of nominations withdrawn. Half of the candidates have withdrawn their nominations, with 58 withdrawals recorded since yesterday.

Talks between the Congress leadership and rebels have been successful, resulting in the withdrawal of nominations in several constituencies. Patel Ramesh Reddy in Suryapet, Gangaram in Jukkal, Balaraju in Banswada, Nehrunaik in Dornakal, Raghava Reddy in Warangal East, and Dadem Ram Reddy in Ibrahimpatnam have all withdrawn their nominations.

BJP State President Kishan Reddy has announced that a large number of BJP rebels have also withdrawn their nominations.

EC Approves 2,898 Nominations, Rejects 606

After scrutiny, the Election Commission (EC) approved the nominations of 2,898 candidates. Officials announced that 606 nominations were rejected as per the rules.

With the withdrawal deadline now passed, the official statistics on the number of candidates contesting the elections will be released by the Election Commission shortly.
