Huzurabad By-Election Likely After Dasara: EC

Hyderabad, Sept.4 (Maxim News): Election Commission of India has informed that the by-election for Huzurabad segment in Karim Nagar district of Telangana is likely to be conducted after Dasara festival.

On September 1, EC held a key meeting with the Chief Secretaries of the states going for the polls on preparedness and the Corona cases. Taking their opinion the EC took a call to see that the by-poll in Huzurabad and Badwel in Kadapa district are to be conducted after Dasara festival. It will be either in October end or November first week as the Andhra Pradesh government also sought the polls should be postponed.

The Huzurabad segment is vacant after Etela Rajender lost his health minister post and resigned to the TRS as an MLA and joined the BJP fold. After that all the political parties were gearing up for the by-polls and started campaigning.
The segment is getting heat with continuous political meetings and campaigns after announcement of Dalit Bnadhu scheme.
