Hyderabad Air Quality Drops As AQI Reaches Unhealthy Levels
Hyderabad, Mar 6 (Maxim News): The Hyderabad air quality level dropped sharply on Friday morning, raising fresh health concerns in the city. Pollution levels increased in several areas, according to official data.
The Air Quality Index in many locations rose above normal levels. Officials recorded the highest reading in Rameshwaram Banda in the Patancheru area. The AQI reached 251 at this location. Authorities classify this level as unhealthy.
Health experts warned that the current Hyderabad air quality may affect public health. They said polluted air can cause breathing problems and other health issues. Sensitive groups face a higher risk during such conditions.
Air quality usually stays in the moderate range for safe conditions. However, the recent spike pushed pollution to worrying levels. Officials advised residents to remain cautious.
Experts say several factors caused the sudden rise in Hyderabad air quality concerns. Continuous construction activity in the city produces large amounts of dust. In addition, heavy vehicular traffic releases harmful emissions.
Another major factor is the burning of waste in suburban areas. Such activities release dangerous particles into the air. These include nitrogen dioxide and fine particulate matter known as PM2.5.
Pollution Control Board data shows that pollution often increases during early morning and late night hours. During these periods, air circulation becomes weaker. As a result, pollutants remain trapped near the ground.
Doctors advised residents to take preventive measures during this period. People with respiratory problems should avoid prolonged outdoor exposure. Elderly people and children must remain especially careful.
Medical experts also recommended wearing masks while stepping outside. Residents should limit outdoor activities whenever possible. Drinking enough water and staying indoors can also help reduce health risks.
Authorities continue to monitor Hyderabad air quality across the city. Officials said they will track pollution levels closely in the coming days. Further action may follow if pollution levels continue to rise. (Maxim News)
