Hyderabad: Birth Certificate Racket Busted, 4 held

Hyderabad, Dec 23 (Maxim News): Hyderabad City Police South Zone Commissioner’s Task Force and South Zone Team along with Moghalpura police apprehended four persons, Mohd Ibrahim (45) owner of IA khidmat Mee Seva Service at Sultan Shahi, (2) Shaik Ameer (29) of Mannat Online Service of Hassan Nagar, (3) Mohd Shahbaz (19) and (4) Mohd Shah Nawaz (26), Hi-Tech Online Service, Misriganj who were providing birth certificates without following due procedure to the needy and collecting huge amounts.

The Task Force team has seized 243 Fake Birth Certificates of various circles in Hyderabad and (1) thumb scanner, 1 CPU, 1 Monitor, I Printer, and 4 Cell Phones.

Informing media persons, the South Zone DCP P. Sai Chaitanya along with other police officials said that the accused had formed a group and indulged in issuing the fake birth certificate without following the norms of the GHMC. He explained that according to the norms of the GHMC, after the Birth of the child the concerned Hospital authority collects the ID proofs of the parents and submits the details of the child’s birth through Form-A to the Municipal Ward office.

The details of the same may be entered into the official records of the Ward office. Then the applicant is entitled to apply for the child’s Birth Certificates through Mee Seva or the citizen service center. After due verification, the concerned circle will issue the Birth Certificates.

If the birth details of the child are not available in GHMC records then, the applicant should obtain a Nonavailability certificate from the Special Executive magistrate and such order issued by the Special Executive Magistrate is to be submitted to the Mee-Seva Centre for registration for the Birth certificate.

The applicants whose details are not mentioned in the official records of GHMC approach the said brokers to obtain birth certificates without submitting relevant documents; they just provide the child’s name, father’s name, mother’s name, and date of birth of the child and collect Rs. 2000 to Rs. 2500 for each certificate.

Based on the request of the broker’s MD. Ibrahim first filled the data in online through his Mee Seva Portal without uploading any valid documents. After submitting the forms and getting the Non-Availability Certificate, he again forwards the Non-Availability Certificate for further proceedings directly without following due procedure and obtaining the Birth Certificate as genuine.

All the accused collected fruitful amounts from the applicants and issued Birth Certificates illegally by keeping the GHMC officials in darkness. As of now, they issued about 3000 birth certificates from June 2022.

Based on the credible information the Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone Team along with Moghalpura police apprehended the accused and seized the material, and arrested the accused and seized material handed over to SHO Moghalpura for further investigation. (Maxim News)
