Hyderabad: A couple was arrested by the Osmania University police for allegedly cheating several persons on pretext of arranging vehicles and electronic goods through ‘military canteen’.
The arrested persons were identified as Swathi (26) and Sai Kumar Srikanth (30). The couple collected around Rs. 33 lakh from different persons on pretext of providing electronic goods and vehicles at a lesser price compared to the market price. They collected the amount since March this year and spent it for their personal needs, said the Osmania University police.
The victims were from the city and also from Kamareddy district, the police added. Based on a complaint the police registered a case and arrested them.
