Hyderabad Court Sends Man To Jail For Misbehaving With Woman

Hyderabad, May 26 (Maxim News) : A Hyderabad court sentenced a 24 year old man to five days imprisonment for allegedly misbehaving with a woman, abusing her and creating public nuisance within the limits of Malakpet Police Station.

The accused was identified as N. Sudheer Kumar, son of Prasad and a resident of Shalivahana Nagar, Musarambagh, Hyderabad.

According to police, Sudheer Kumar allegedly created nuisance in public, abused a woman and behaved inappropriately with her. Following the incident, Malakpet Police registered an E-Petty Case against him under Section 70 C of the City Police Act.

Police registered the case as E-Petty Case No. 743/2026 and STC No. 3275/2026.

Court finds accused guilty

The case was investigated by Sub Inspector M. Tejya Naik, while Court Duty Officer Ram Santosh handled the court proceedings on behalf of Malakpet Police.

The accused was produced before the 7th Special Judicial Magistrate, M. Bhaskar, on May 26.

After reviewing the evidence presented by the police, the court found Sudheer Kumar guilty of the offence and sentenced him to five days imprisonment.

Officials said the judgment reflected the police department’s strict approach towards offences involving harassment and disturbance of public peace.

Police warn against harassment of women

Malakpet Station House Officer K. Narasimha said the police department follows a zero tolerance policy against harassment, abuse or misbehavior towards women.

He warned that strict legal and criminal action would be initiated against anyone attempting to threaten women’s safety or disturb public peace in the city.

Police also appealed to citizens, especially women, to immediately report incidents of harassment, abuse or nuisance to the nearest police station or emergency helpline for prompt action.
