Hyderabad District Election and CP Sajjanar On Jubilee Hills By-Poll

Hyderabad: The Election Commission has officially released the schedule for the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election, marking the beginning of an intense political phase in Hyderabad. As per the notification, polling will take place on November 11, and votes will be counted on November 14.

There are 3,92,669 registered voters in the Jubilee Hills constituency. Hyderabad District Election Officer and Returning Officer RV Karnan addressed the media, confirming that the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect across the constituency. He cautioned that cases will be registered against anyone violating election rules, and that all campaign posters and banners will be removed immediately.

Karnan also mentioned that citizens still have 10 days left to register as new voters. The vote counting will be conducted at the Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Stadium, and officials have begun preparations to ensure smooth and transparent polling. “We urge all political parties, candidates, and voters to cooperate fully with the election process,” Karnan said.

Police on alert to ensure peaceful polling

Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Sajjanar said that the city police are fully prepared to conduct the Jubilee Hills by-election peacefully and impartially. Speaking at a joint press conference with the Returning Officer, he said, “We are taking all precautionary steps to ensure that voters can exercise their right in a secure and peaceful atmosphere.”

Sajjanar instructed all gun license holders — including politicians, businessmen, and celebrities — to deposit their weapons at the respective police stations immediately, following the enforcement of the election code. He warned that any violation of the code or suspicious activity would be dealt with strictly. Citizens have been urged to report any violations or suspicious movements by dialing 100 or 112.

The Commissioner also revealed that the bind-over process of rowdy sheeters and history-sheeters will begin soon to prevent any law-and-order issues during the election period. “Our aim is to ensure that the by-election is conducted in a fair, transparent, and peaceful manner,” he said.

With the Election Commission’s notification now in effect, Jubilee Hills is witnessing heightened activity from political parties. Campaign teams are reorganizing their strategies as enforcement teams move in to ensure compliance with the election code.
