Hyderabad, Aug.26 (Maxim News): The Telangana High Court today declined to give permission for Moharram procession in old city area of the city. Relying on a Supreme Court order, Justice T Vinod Kumar of the Telangana High Court rejected the plea of civil society organisation Fathima Sevadal Society seeking permission to take out Moharram procession in the city on August 31.
The High Court said that Any religious activity confining to within the Mosque are not interfered with, but processions are strictly banned. It made it clear that the SC judgment on the issue had abundantly made it clear. It said that it can’t grant any permission to the society to hold the procession in the case wake of the judgment of the Apex Court of the country. The society has said that it would hold the procession from Bibi Ka Alawa in Dabeerpura till Chaderghat on 30th of this month. (Maxim News)
