Hyderabad: Heavy Rains Lashes City, Four Days Alert Issued
Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast four days of moderate to heavy rains in Telangana, starting from Monday. Similar is the case in coastal districts in Andhra Pradesh.
Heavy to very heavy rains are expected between July 3 and July 5, 2023. According to the IMD, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places in a few districts of Telangana.
There is a possibility of heavy rains to occur at isolated places in the districts of Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikaarabaad, Sangareddy, Nagar Kurnool and Jogulamba Gadwal on Wednesday and Thursday.
According to the IMD, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places in a few districts of Telangana.
There is a possibility of heavy rains to occur at isolated places in the districts of Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikaarabaad, Sangareddy, Nagar Kurnool and Jogulamba Gadwal on Wednesday and Thursday.
The department has also predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in a few places throughout the State for the next four days. The maximum temperature in Hyderabad would be between 34 degrees and 36 degrees Celsius.
The department has issued an alert that there would be heavy rains in Palnadu, Bapatla, and Nellore Prakasam districts, while Alluri Sitaramaraju, Eluru, West Godavari, NTR, Guntur, Tirupati, Krishna, Chittoor, Annamayya, YSR, Nandyal, and Sri Sathya Sai districts would receive light rains on Tuesday.
On the other hand, the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has said that along with heavy rains, there is a possibility of thunderstorms in many places.
People are advised to stay in safe places and avoid taking shelter under trees and temporarily suspend farming operations during rainfall.
