Hyderabad: A 36-year-old man employed with a construction company allegedly died by suicide by hanging at his rented house in Dundigal on Sunday. Police recovered a pistol and three bullets from his room during the investigation.
The deceased was identified as T. Venkata Rao, a native of Ongole in Andhra Pradesh. He had been staying at Sri Sai Balaji Enclave in Mallampet with his brother, Ramu, for the past two months after reportedly having a dispute with his wife.
Police Probe Firearm Recovery in Dundigal Suicide Case
According to the police, the incident came to light in the evening when Venkata Rao did not respond despite repeated knocks on his room. His brother looked through a window and found him hanging from the ceiling fan.
After receiving information, the Dundigal Police rushed to the spot, broke open the door and shifted the body for post-mortem examination.
During a search of the room for a suicide note and other evidence, police recovered a pistol along with three live bullets, which were seized for further investigation.
Police questioned the victim’s brother, who told investigators that he had no knowledge about the firearm or how it came into Venkata Rao’s possession.
A case has been registered, and the Dundigal Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the alleged suicide as well as the source and legality of the recovered weapon.
