Hyderabad, Sept. 26: The NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2026 marked 15 years of the event with a special photographic exhibition in Hyderabad.
Titled “Beyond the Finish Line: 15 Years of Hyderabad Marathon”, the exhibition opened at Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad on September 25.
The exhibition was organised by Hyderabad Runners in collaboration with Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad.
It brings together photographs capturing the people, passion and community behind the city’s iconic running event.
The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of Hyderabad Runners Society members, runners and photography enthusiasts.

Amita Desai, Founder Director and Executive Director of Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad, described the collaboration as a unique initiative.
She said the Hyderabad Marathon brought the city together like a “sea of humanity”.
Desai highlighted lessons from the marathon experience, including taking responsibility for health and life.
She also spoke about finding clarity, purpose and resilience through a diverse running community.
Desai said Hyderabad Runners had helped shape a healthier, greener and happier Hyderabad.
Rajesh Vetcha, Founder and Mentor of Hyderabad Runners, said the organisation focuses on overall wellbeing beyond physical fitness.
He said its aim is to make an active lifestyle part of everyday life for Hyderabad residents.
The exhibition features 15 photographs representing the marathon’s 15 year journey.
The photographs were selected from the recently concluded Hyderabad Marathon Photo Contest.
They capture the excitement at the starting line, the intensity of the race and emotions at the finish line.
The exhibition also highlights volunteers, supporters, photographers and other people who contribute to the event.
Over the years, the Hyderabad Marathon has brought together people from different backgrounds through running and community participation.
The exhibition looks beyond race timings, medals and finishing positions to document the human stories behind the event.
It also showcases Hyderabad’s roads, landmarks, neighbourhoods and people as part of the marathon experience.
The photographs capture moments of determination, camaraderie, celebration and struggle that cannot be represented through race statistics alone.
The exhibition will remain open to visitors until October 5, 2026, at Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad in Banjara Hills.
Organisers have invited runners, photography enthusiasts, fitness enthusiasts and members of the public to visit the exhibition.
The NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2026 is a World Athletics Label Road Race.
It is also recognised as India’s first marathon to receive the World Athletics Silver Sustainability Award.
