Hyderabad: The body of J Sundar Raj, a postman who was reported missing since Tuesday, was found in the Nagole Lake late on Thursday. Sundar Raj, who was working at the GSI Bandlaguda branch post office, had left to deliver letters when he went missing during the heavy rains. According to the police, Sundar who reported for duty on Tuesday morning, collected the letters that were invoiced to him for delivery for the day and left to distribute them in the surrounding areas including Jaipuri Colony, APCO Colony and Hanuman Nagar.
However, due to the sudden downpour, he was instructed to return the undelivered letters to the post office the next day. He, however, did not return home, and his family approached the LB Nagar police on Wednesday, after which a case was booked and a search was launched.
The body was finally found by local residents in the Nagole Lake on Thursday. The police retrieved the body and shifted it to hospital for autopsy. “We suspect he may have been washed away by the strong currents during the heavy rains,” officials said, adding that further investigation was on.
