Hyderabad: Numaish Delayed, Not Cancelled

Hyderabad: Considering the circumstances due to Covid-19 pandemic, the Exhibition Society on Tuesday announced that the 81st All India Industrial Exhibition has been deferred and not cancelled. The Exhibition Society said many stakeholders were involved in the conduct of Numaish and efforts were on to organize the event this year also.

In a statement, the Exhibition Society Joint Secretary K Janaki Ram said “We have to bear in mind the health and safety of the visitors from the corona pandemic perspective. The event will not commence on January 1, 2021,”

Every year, the Numaish commences on January 1 and remains open for public till February 15. Apart from being a source of support to 20 educational and charitable institutions and livelihood for small businesspersons and women entrepreneurs, it is a source of revenue for government through GST.

Numaish which is a venue for recreation and relaxation for many people, including those from other States, had over 20 lakh visitors during the last edition. On an average, 45,000 visitors visited the exhibition during the 46 days event last year.

“Considering the present circumstances, we shall look for an appropriate time window to conduct the Numaish 2021 at a later date. After obtaining guidelines from public health experts and approval from authorities, we can announce the schedule of 81st edition of Numaish,” said Janaki Ram in the statement.
