The alert was further heightened after a bomb threat was reported at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad, sending shockwaves through the city. Responding swiftly, police teams conducted thorough checks using bomb squads, dog squads, and forensic experts. Fortunately, no explosives were found.

Comprehensive security inspections were also carried out in high-footfall areas like Charminar, Golconda Fort, the State Secretariat, LB Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, and the Rachakonda region. Suspicious vehicles, especially those parked for extended periods or with out-of-state registrations, were inspected. Individuals deemed suspicious were detained for questioning as part of preventive surveillance.

Adding to the city’s security concerns is the upcoming Miss World competition, scheduled to take place in Hyderabad. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka chaired a high-level review meeting and directed officials to deploy tight security measures around event venues. He instructed law enforcement to ensure three-tier security at all sites associated with the pageant, including hotels and event locations.

Security at Shamshabad Airport has been significantly ramped up with the deployment of CISF personnel and increased camera surveillance in coordination with intelligence and special branch (SB) teams. Travelers have been advised to arrive at the airport at least three hours in advance to allow for security checks and avoid delays.

The Hyderabad police, in coordination with central agencies, continue to monitor developments closely, urging citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
