Three Youngsters Die in Fiery Crash on ORR After Hitting Parked Van
Hyderabad, May 11 (Maxim News): A late-night joyride turned into a heart-wrenching tragedy as three young men lost their lives in a horrific car accident on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Gandicheruvu bridge in Hyderabad during the early hours of Saturday.
According to police reports, 21-year-old Deepesh Agarwal, a resident of Bahadurpura Housing Board Colony, had recently taken his father’s newly purchased car out to show his friends. He was joined by his friends, Sanchay Malpani from Karwan Vijayanagar Colony and Priyansh Mittal from Pragathi Nagar, for a night drive that ended in disaster.
The trio reportedly set off from Shamshabad and were heading towards Ghatkesar on the ORR when, around 2:00 am, their vehicle crashed at high speed into a stationary goods van parked on the roadside without warning signs. The impact caused the front of the car to wedge under the van, triggering a massive fire.
Residents who heard the crash rushed to the scene and attempted to douse the flames, but the intensity of the fire made rescue impossible. Deepesh Agarwal and Sanchay Malpani were charred to death on the spot, while Priyansh Mittal was pulled from the burning car and rushed to a private hospital in LB Nagar, where he later succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Initial investigations by Abdullapurmet Police revealed that the parked goods van had no reflective signage or warning indicators and was reportedly left in a no-parking zone. Acting on a complaint from Ritesh Agarwal, Deepesh’s father, the police have booked a case against the van driver, Krishna, for negligent parking that led to the fatal accident.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Abdullapurmet Police Station, Rangareddy district, and further investigation is underway.
This tragic incident highlights the urgent need for better enforcement of road safety rules, especially on high-speed corridors like the ORR. Authorities are being urged to monitor unauthorized parking and improve surveillance to prevent similar accidents in the future.
