Hyderabad Police Solves Mystery Behind Hoax Planes Hijack Mail, Accused Arrested
Hyderabad: The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone team with the assistance of S.R Nagar police, here on Thursday apprehended the accused and solved the mystery behind hoax mail which talked about hijacking of flights in Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai, which has created a panic.
The accused, Motaparthi Vamshi Krishna @ vamshi chowdary S/o. M.A.sV. Prasad, Transport agent and resident of Sanjana Amrutha Residency, Miyapur, R.R.Dist, has revealed that he had created the hoax mail to stop his girl friend’s trip to Mumbai and Goa, as he was unable to bear the expenses.
The facts of the case are, on April 15, the Commissioner of police, Mumbai received a mail from a mail ID [email protected] claimed to be woman, in the email and stated that she overheard six men chatting in a hotel and stating that all 23 people have to split from there and board flights in three cities i.e Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai to hijack planes at a time the next day. On the tip of, Mumbai Police alerted and sent the information to the concerned Airport Security agencies about a gang planning to hijack flights from three Airports.
As the mail was generated from Hyderabad, considering the seriousness and sensitivity of the issue, the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad instructed the Task Force team to check the veracity of the mail. The Task Force Police made sustained efforts and arrested the accused Vamsi Krishna.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that his girlfriend who stays at Chennai, proposed a trip to Mumbai & Goa. As he is facing financial problems, he requested her to withdraw the trip proposal, but she denied his request, forced him to go to trip to Mumbai & Goa. In this process, to get the trip cancelled, he hatched a plan to make her believe that flights have been cancelled because of High Alert at airports.
He created a fake flight booking Ticket on her name, sent the fake ticket to his girl friend through his mail Id. To make her believe about the threat of plane hijacks, he created a fake mail id “[email protected]” and secured the Mail Ids of Mumbai police commissioner and others and prepared fake message to the Mumbai Police Commissioner.
On further questioning he revealed that previously he was involved in two cases The apprehended accused along with seized material being handover to SHO, S.R.Nagar PS for taking further action under 66D of IT act and sec 419, 182 IPC.
The arrests were made under the supervision of B. Limba Reddy, Dy. Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, by L. Raja Venkat Reddy, Inspector of Police, and SIs P.Mallikarjun, M. Prabhakar Reddy, L. Bhaskar Reddy, V. Kishore and staff of Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone, Waheeduddin, Inspector of police, and SI Veeraswamy of S.R Nagar P.S.
