Neighbourhoods likely to be impacted include LB Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Hayathnagar, Saroornagar, Saidabad, Badangpet, Meerpet, Rajendranagar, Chandrayangutta, Bahadurpura, Kishanbagh, Charminar, Malakpet, Nampally, and Khairtabad. These localities may witness quick bouts of rain accompanied by thunder and gusty winds, said Balaji. The precipitation is expected to continue intermittently through the evening and night, bringing slight relief from day-time heat and humidity.
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Centre (IMD), Hyderabad, also issued a forecast predicting thunderstorms in parts of the city and several districts across Telangana through October 26. The department warned that certain pockets could see heavy rainfall and urged residents to stay cautious, especially during late-night hours when road visibility may drop.

The forecast comes as Hyderabad enters a transition phase where lingering monsoon influences occasionally trigger post-seasonal showers. Local experts note that these unseasonal rains are typical for October and often linked to moisture-laden easterly winds interacting with lower atmosphere disturbances. While the rainfall pattern is uneven, some parts of the city could record brief downpours, leading to temporary waterlogging in low-lying areas.
Residents have been advised to plan travel accordingly as showers may disrupt evening traffic in some parts of the city. The IMD continues to monitor the weather situation and will update advisories as storm clouds intensify over central Telangana and the capital.
