Hyderabad Rains: Hussain Sagar, Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar Under Watch
In light of the rainfall, the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had directed officials to remain vigilant. Special instructions were issued to monitor all major reservoirs in and around Hyderabad, including Hussain Sagar, Osman Sagar, and Himayat Sagar.
Water resources authorities confirmed that regular inspections are being carried out to track fluctuations in levels and to ensure timely release of excess water. Officials also said precautionary measures are being taken to avoid flooding in low-lying areas.
Public Safety Measures in Place
With the Hussain Sagar nearly at full capacity, emergency teams have been placed on alert. The inflow and outflow levels are being updated frequently to assess the situation. Officials said the rise in water levels highlights the importance of controlled water management during continuous rains.
Residents around tank bund and adjoining localities have been advised to stay cautious, especially as heavy rain forecasts remain in place for Hyderabad and surrounding districts.
The city, already receiving consistent rainfall, is expected to see more showers in the coming hours. Authorities emphasized that coordination between irrigation and municipal departments will continue to prevent any overflow-related incidents.
