Hyderabad Rains: GHMC Mayor Monitors Situation
Hyderabad: Following the incessant rains that have been lashing the city for last two days, GHMC Mayor G Vijaya Laxmi on Tuesday monitored the situation and stayed in contact with the elected representatives to address problems being caused by this.
A motor to pump out water from Ramanthapur Pedda Cheruvu was sent after an interaction with Uppal MLA Bethi Subhas Reddy. Also, men and machinery were sent to Musheerabad constituency to fix the issues pertaining to overflowing sewage. The monsoon activities were monitored by the Mayor through teleconference.
She also visited Nagole ward in LB Nagar. “We are building a box drain here with Rs 30 crore and there is no outlet at Bandlaguda Lake. Construction of the drain will be completed in 15 days and an outlet is also being planned,” said the Mayor.
Meanwhile, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) deployed monsoon action teams and Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams. The teams cleared water logging in different parts of the city.
