Hyderabad road rage: KPHB police station ASI dies
Mahipal Reddy had on Saturday gone to a anti-drunk drive checking spot on the Nizampet road after a car driven by a person allegedly in an inebriated condition hit a home guard.
Hyderabad: KPHB Police Assistant Sub-inspector A.Mahipal Reddy, who was injured after being hit by a car at Nizampet on Saturday night died in hospital here on Wednesday.
Mahipal Reddy had on Saturday gone to a anti-drunk drive checking spot on the Nizampet road after a car driven by a person allegedly in an inebriated condition hit a home guard.
As he was standing at the spot, another car driven by one Aslam rammed into him. The ASI suffered grievous multiple injuries. He received a severe injury on the head and a fracture on the left leg.
It was initially found that he also is having internal bleeding, and was shifted to a nearby private hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries early on Wednesday.
KPHB Police
The KPHB police had earlier booked a case for negligence causing injuries and took up investigation. The sections of the case are likely to be altered following the officer’s death.
His family members have also agreed to donate his organs for the Jeevandan organ transplantation program through Cyberabad police’s initiative for organ donation ‘Maro Janma’. Police investigating the case are now likely to alter the charges.
Meanwhile, the driver of Hyundai Creta vehicle Srujan, whose vehicle first ran amok was tested for drunk driving and he recorded 174 mg dl BAC in the breath analyser test.
The Creta car also hit another vehicle, injuring a home guard and another woman passenger of another car waiting at the checkpoint. The car driver identified as Aslam, who is believed to be drunk, fled from the place.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, along with senior police officials and Jeevandan in-charge Dr G. Swarnalatha visited the bereaved family of Mahipal Reddy at Kismatpur village in Bandlaguda Jagir of Rangareddy district.
