The Hyderabad City Police Commissioner transferred 65 personnel from the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force to the City Armed Reserve Headquarters. The move followed complaints and inquiries linked to alleged corruption and indiscipline. Officials said the transfers were made on administrative grounds. However, sources connected the action to an ongoing probe into irregularities within the Task Force.
The transferred personnel range from the sub inspector rank to the constable rank. They served across all seven zones of the city under the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force. In the history of the Task Force, such a large scale transfer has not occurred earlier. Therefore, the decision drew attention within police circles. The department order stated that officials carried out the transfers purely on administrative grounds. However, reliable sources said complaints and inquiries prompted the action. During the probe, the names of a few Inspectors working in the teams also surfaced. Inquiries against them are still going on. Meanwhile, investigators continued to examine the role of the transferred personnel. Officials did not add further details beyond what the inquiry has so far revealed.
The Task Force plays a key role in tackling organized crime in Hyderabad. Therefore, the transfers mark a significant internal step. Later, the affected personnel were attached to the City Armed Reserve Headquarters. Police sources said the action aimed to maintain discipline and integrity within the force. Meanwhile, the probe into the alleged irregularities continues. Officials are expected to proceed based strictly on the findings of the ongoing inquiries.
