The data compares votes polled in the 2023 Assembly election with names included in the draft deletion list. The figures cover the Greater Hyderabad region.

Across 15 constituencies, voters cast 21,72,111 votes in the 2023 Assembly election. Meanwhile, the draft list includes 19,41,444 names for possible deletion.

The figure equals about 89 percent of the votes polled in 2023. However, the draft list does not mean that all these voters will lose their names permanently.

The Election Commission process allows voters to raise claims and objections. Booth Level Officers are visiting households to verify voter details.

According to the data, Yakutpura and Malakpet show the most striking figures. In both constituencies, the draft deletion count exceeds the votes polled in the 2023 Assembly election.

Yakutpura recorded 1,39,990 votes in 2023. The draft list now includes 1,54,982 names. That represents nearly 44 percent of its June 2026 voter base of 3,74,948.

The deletion exercise can include voters who have died, shifted residence, remained absent or become untraceable. However, the current draft figures cannot alone establish that every listed voter qualifies for deletion.

BLOs are conducting house to house verification and accepting objections and claims. They are also issuing notices where required.

Therefore, the final electoral roll may differ from the current draft. Political leaders have nevertheless called for close scrutiny of the figures in Malakpet and Yakutpura.
