Hyderabad, Sept. 1 (Maxim News) : Tensions escalated between Congress and BJP workers in the undivided Nalgonda district on Tuesday after attacks on party offices in Bhuvanagiri.
The trouble began in the morning when BJYM workers allegedly attacked the camp office of Bhuvanagiri Congress MLA Kumbam Anil Kumar Reddy.
The protesters reportedly damaged windowpanes and flower pots inside the office. They also allegedly splashed black paint on flex banners and the name board.
The BJYM workers raised slogans against the Congress government during the protest. The incident created tension in Bhuvanagiri.
Congress workers later launched a retaliatory protest after learning about the attack on the MLA’s camp office. They allegedly targeted the BJP office in Bhuvanagiri.
The Congress workers reportedly damaged furniture inside the BJP office. The situation then worsened as workers from both sides allegedly engaged in stone pelting.
Police deploy additional forces after political clash
Police teams quickly reached the affected areas and intervened to prevent further escalation. They dispersed the protesters and brought the situation under control.
Authorities also deployed additional police personnel at the locations to prevent fresh clashes.
Meanwhile, police registered cases against those allegedly involved in the attacks from both sides. An investigation is underway to establish the sequence of events and identify those responsible for the damage.
The clashes have intensified political tensions across the undivided Nalgonda district. The incident has also raised concerns over possible further confrontations between Congress and BJP workers.
