Hyderabad Water Crisis: Kavitha Targets Government

Hyderabad Water Crisis: Hyderabad, July 7 (Maxim News): The Hyderabad water crisis continues despite the arrival of the monsoon, Telangana Rakshana Sena chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha alleged on Tuesday.

Claiming that nearly 10,000 water tankers are still being booked every day in July, she accused the Congress government of failing to resolve the city’s drinking water problems and lacking a long-term plan to ensure adequate water supply.

Kavitha made the remarks in a post on X, where she criticised the government’s handling of Hyderabad’s water needs.

Kavitha Targets Government Over Water Supply

Kavitha alleged that the government abandoned the earlier proposal to supply drinking water from Konda Pochamma Sagar and instead chose the Godavari Drinking Water Project Phases II and III from Mallanna Sagar.

According to her, the decision was intended to benefit a private company and generate commissions rather than address Hyderabad’s drinking water requirements. She claimed the government’s priorities had left residents struggling for potable water.

Hyderabad Water Crisis | Demands Immediate Action

Kavitha also alleged that the government failed to prepare in advance despite warnings about the possible impact of El Niño on water availability.

She urged the state government to take immediate measures to resolve the Hyderabad water crisis and complete the Godavari Drinking Water Project without further delay. (Maxim News)
