Hyderabad, April 23 (Maxim News) Hyderabad witnessed a sudden change in weather on Thursday after intense heat conditions prevailed till early afternoon. However, clouds gathered over the city after 1 pm, bringing relief from soaring temperatures. Reports of thunder and light rain also emerged from some areas.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department issued an alert for several districts in Telangana. It said Hyderabad, Kamareddy, Medchal, Rajanna Sircilla, Ranga Reddy, Vikarabad and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri may receive light rain in the next two to three hours.
Officials also warned that winds may blow at speeds of up to 40 kmph. In addition, thunderstorms are likely in isolated places. Residents have been advised to remain cautious during sudden weather changes.
The weather department further predicted rainfall in Nizamabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy and Mahabubnagar districts on Friday.
Moreover, the department said maximum temperatures across Telangana may rise by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius over the next three days. Therefore, people have been asked to stay hydrated and avoid direct exposure to heat during afternoon hours.
Although rain activity may bring temporary relief, heat conditions are expected to continue in several parts of the state. Authorities said local weather variations may increase because of moisture and thundercloud activity.
Citizens in Hyderabad and nearby districts have been advised to monitor official weather updates regularly. Commuters should also plan travel carefully, especially during evening hours when thunderstorms may develop. (Maxim News)
