Hyderabad Woman Suicide | Hyderabad, Oct. 23: A 23-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Indira Nagar, Ramanthapur, on Thursday, following alleged physical and mental harassment by her boyfriend, according to police.
The deceased, Gandamalla Chandana, worked at an eye hospital in Medipally. According to Uppal police, she became acquainted with Tudumu Shiva, 23, a native of Bommalaramaram, at her workplace. The two had reportedly been in a relationship for around 18 months.
Police said Shiva allegedly subjected Chandana to repeated physical and mental harassment.
Uppal Police Investigate Woman’s Death
According to the report, Chandana told her elder sister on October 21 that she could no longer endure the alleged harassment and expressed fears about ending her life.
The following day, she was found dead at her residence. The incident was subsequently reported to the police.
Based on a complaint lodged by Chandana’s mother, Uppal police registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
The allegations against the boyfriend are under investigation.
