Hyderabad: A youngster who was returning home from work was mowed down by a rashly driven truck at Aramghar in Mailardevpally here around midnight on Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Yajaz Shareef (24), an employee in a pharmacy at Attapur and a resident of Yousufain Colony in Chandrayangutta.
According to the police, Shareef was returning home on his motorcycle and when he reached near Sai Baba Nagar crossroads in Aramghar, the truck, which was allegedly driven in a rash and negligent manner in the wrong route, hit his bike.
“He fell on the road and came under the truck. He died on the spot,” the police said, adding that the truck driver, Mohammed Shareef from Bidar of Karnataka, was found to be driving in an inebriated condition and was arrested.
The Mailardevpally police have booked a case of negligence causing death and are investigating.
