HYDRA: 262 Illegal Structures Demolished, 111 Acres Land Freed
Hyderabad, Sept 11 (Maxim News): HYDRA, which has entered the field to protect alienated government lands and ponds in the city, has revealed that it has seized more than a hundred acres of land from encroachers. So far, HYDRA said that since June 27 till now, 262 illegal structures have been demolished in 23 areas under GHMC limits. It has submitted a report to the government that 111.72 acres of land have been acquired.

HYDRA revealed that 3 illegal structures were removed in Ramnagar Manemma Gully, 14 in Gagan Pahad Appa Raod, 24 in Ameenpur Pond, 42 in Madhapur Pond, and 13 in Dundigal Katwa Pond. It said that 51 acres in Ameenpur and 10 acres of government land in Madhapur pond area have been acquired.
It is known that IPS officer Ranganath is acting as commissioner of HYDRA. The DGP office has already issued orders allocating special police personnel for this. 15 CI level and 8.51 level police officers will work for demolition of encroachments, within this, HYDRA’s actions will be accelerated.

It is known that HYDRA has been set up by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government for the protection of ponds, IPS officer Ranganath is the commissioner of HYDRA.
HYDRA has been demolishing illegal structures in ponds, FTL, and buffer zones for the past two months. Buildings that are against norms are being razed to the ground without neglect. HYDRA demolitions have become a topic of discussion in many areas. Several structures were demolished, including N. Convention, owned by film actor Nagarjuna.

TRIO BOOKED FOR OBSTRUCTING HYDRA DEMOLITION
The Madhapur police have registered a case against three individuals for allegedly obstructing the demolition taken up by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRA) officials at Sunnam Cheruvu in Guttala Begumpet on September 8.
The owners of the illegal constructions who were booked are Venkatesh (35), a driver, his wife Lakshmi (28), a daily wage worker, and Venkatesh’s brother Naresh. They allegedly obstructed the officials by threatening to kill themselves by self-immolation.

They poured kerosene over their bodies to prevent the demolition. The case was booked based on a complaint from A Lakshminarayana, an assistant executive engineer. He alleged that the suspects threatened to self-immolate, thereby hindering his ability to perform his duties as a public servant. An investigation is underway. (Maxim News)
