The transgender employees working with HYDRA said the jobs brought dignity and recognition into their lives. Officials stated that 16 transgender persons are currently working with the agency, including 11 trans women and five trans men.

The employees are actively participating in anti encroachment drives and public asset protection activities involving lakes, nalas, parks, and government lands in Hyderabad and nearby districts. Team members said they are ready to work anywhere and anytime as part of their field responsibilities.

HYDRA Eagle Team Gains Recognition

HYDRA officials named the transgender employees as the “HYDRAA Eagle Team” and involved them in several field operations. Officials said the team works fearlessly during anti encroachment drives without backing down, regardless of the influence of encroachers.

The Eagle Team reportedly played an important role in protecting nearly 862 acres of government land in Ailapur village of Ameenpur mandal in Sangareddy district. Recently, they also participated in operations related to protecting Idulakunta lake in Madhapur.

Apart from field duties, the transgender employees are also helping officials communicate with residents during demolition and anti encroachment drives. HYDRA authorities said the team members effectively calm tense situations, speak with women residents, and act as a bridge between the public and officials.
