Hyderabad, Jan. 23 (Maxim News): HYDRA has protected a public park in Gopalnagar of Medchal Malkajgiri district by removing encroachments and installing fencing around the land. The action followed complaints from local residents about illegal occupation of park space.
HYDRA fenced around 3,300 square yards of park land located in Kukatpally mandal. Officials also installed boards marking the area as a protected park site. The drive is part of HYDRA’s ongoing focus on preventing encroachments on parks and public roads.
According to officials, the Gopalnagar layout was developed in 1980 across survey numbers 148 to 155, covering 92.21 acres.
The layout includes over 1,200 plots. At the time, land was earmarked at three locations for parks.
Residents stated that two park sites had already been encroached upon. The third park also faced illegal occupation.
Following a complaint filed during HYDRA Prajavani by the Gopalnagar Residents Welfare Association, HYDRA Commissioner A V Ranganath ordered a field level inquiry.
HYDRA teams, along with GHMC and revenue officials, inspected the site and confirmed encroachment. Acting on the findings, officials removed a shed built inside the park area. They then fenced the entire plot to prevent further encroachment.
Residents welcomed the action and said repeated requests to other departments had failed over the years. They stated that HYDRA’s swift response helped save the last remaining park in the locality. (Maxim News)
