Authorities clarified that the primary objective of both departments is strictly student protection, not harassing college owners.
To ease compliance, HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath announced that the government will consider allowing colleges to renew their fire NOCs once every two years instead of annually.
Furthermore, institutions were instructed to construct a secondary staircase for emergency exits or establish suitable alternatives if operating within older buildings.
Online Fire NOC Application Process Simplified For College Managements
College managements must submit all new fire NOC applications, renewals, and fee payments exclusively online via the official portal
[hydraafirenoc.telangana.gov.
Officials urged administrators not to rely on unauthorized brokers or third party agents who promise illegal shortcuts.
The simplified process applies to all educational institutions located within the Core Urban Region, covering the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation, and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation.
HYDRAA confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway to identify the key conspirators responsible for manufacturing forged fire safety documents.
Inter Board Secretary Abhilasha Abhinav stated that the board will reconsider the eight lakh rupees penalty imposed on non-compliant colleges to support management cooperation.
Meanwhile, HYDRAA Additional Director Varla Papaiah detailed specific technical fire safety norms, while Inter Board Joint Secretary Vasundhara presented the key resolutions of the administrative meeting.
