Hyderabad: Government offices and educational institutions across Telangana will remain closed on Wednesday for Milad-un-Nabi, marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed.
The Telangana government has declared Milad-un-Nabi a closed holiday across the State.
Several schools have already informed parents about the holiday and issued messages confirming that Wednesday will be a non-working day. However, some schools are expected to conduct special classes for Class X students.
Milad-un-Nabi Celebrations, Markazi Milad Juloos in Hyderabad
Preparations are complete for Milad-un-Nabi celebrations across Hyderabad, with several religious programmes scheduled on Wednesday.
The main attraction will be the Markazi Milad Juloos, which will be taken out through several parts of the Old City.
The procession will begin at Charminar and proceed towards Moghalpura.
The Milad-un-Nabi procession will pass through Gulzar Houz, Pathergatti, Nayapul, Darulshifa, Mandi Mir Alam, Etebar Chowk and Kotla Alijah before culminating at Moghalpura.
Police and civic authorities have been making arrangements for the procession, including traffic management and security measures.
The celebrations are expected to draw large crowds as devotees participate in religious programmes and the traditional Milad Juloos.
Residents and commuters in the Old City are advised to plan their travel accordingly due to the expected movement of the procession and accompanying crowds.
