HYDRAA Clears Encroachments In Jubilee Hills, Fences Land Worth Rs 1003 Crore
Hyderabad: HYDRAA removed encroachments in Jubilee Hills and Khanamet and protected government land worth Rs 1003 crore. Officials cleared illegal occupation of park land in Jubilee Hills and fenced five acres of prime land in Khanamet on Wednesday.
Acting on complaints received through Prajavani, HYDRAA officials conducted field inspections under the directions of Commissioner AV Ranganath. They confirmed unauthorized constructions and took immediate action to safeguard public property.
In Jubilee Hills, near Apollo Hospital out gate, a tenant running a ladies hostel encroached nearly 150 square yards of park land. The individual allegedly extended construction about 50 square yards into the park and developed another 100 square yards as private space. The estimated value of the encroached land stands at around Rs 3 crore.
Residents raised objections and approached HYDRAA. After verification with GHMC officials, authorities demolished the three storey illegal structure and restored the park boundaries. Officials also installed fencing and filed a police case against those responsible.
HYDRAA Protects Rs 1003 Crore Government Land
In a separate action, HYDRAA fenced five acres of government land in Khanamet near HITEX Exhibition Grounds. The land, earlier allotted to the All India Velama Association, is estimated to be worth nearly Rs 1000 crore. However, the allotment is under High Court stay following legal objections.
Meanwhile, locals allegedly attempted encroachment by dumping soil from the rear side of the property. Representatives of the association complained that even a watchman was attacked when he questioned the activity.
After inspection, HYDRAA erected fencing across the five acre site and installed official boards to prevent further encroachment. Authorities stated that the final decision will depend on the court verdict, but the land will remain protected in the interim.
Officials reiterated that strict action will continue against illegal occupation of government and public lands across Hyderabad.
