On Friday, Hydraa teams, supported by the police, conducted a major demolition drive in Kukatpally. Acting on a complaint about unauthorized construction in Habib Nagar, officials inspected the site and swiftly removed the illegal structures.

The encroachment was found along a 7-meter-wide drain. Hydraa demolished compound walls erected by NRC Garden, NKNR Garden, and another structure obstructing the flow of the drain. The teams also cleared accumulated garbage and waste from the area to restore proper drainage.

In a separate operation, Hydraa acted on a complaint from the Nalanda Nagar Welfare Association regarding illegal construction on parkland in Rajendranagar. Upon inspection, officials found that roughly 1,000 square yards of park land in Survey No. 16 of Hyderguda Village had been encroached. A boundary wall had been built on the site without authorization.

During the demolition, residents protested, claiming the structures were on private property and alleging they received no prior notice. Some individuals lie down in front of JCB machines in an attempt to stop the operation, leading to heated arguments, particularly involving women. However, with police assistance, Hydraa successfully removed the illegal structures.

Officials reiterated their commitment to protecting public land and restoring natural water channels.
“Encroachments, regardless of who built them, will not be tolerated. Hydraa will continue these drives without exception,” a senior official stated.

This citywide operation is part of a broader effort to reclaim public spaces and ensure sustainable urban development in Hyderabad.
