The officer was arrested on May 31 and remains in judicial custody, according to the sources. Investigators booked him under the Official Secrets Act.

Police suspect that the case connects to a wider espionage network. The investigation also examines possible links to Pakistani intelligence operatives.

According to investigators, a woman contacted the officer through social media when he faced personal difficulties. Their communication later included regular video calls.

The woman allegedly gained his confidence and then sought military information from him. Investigators suspect she asked him to share photographs, videos and details about military unit movements.

Police sources further alleged that the officer transmitted classified documents and other sensitive data through digital platforms. Investigators are now examining the extent of the information allegedly shared.

The officer also allegedly installed data stealing software on a colleague’s mobile phone. Investigators suspect the software could access device data, track locations or intercept communications.

According to police sources, the woman allegedly operated under instructions from handlers based in Pakistan. Investigators are examining the digital trail to establish the full network behind the alleged operation.

The IAF intelligence wing reportedly provided specific inputs to Delhi Police before the arrest. The Indian Air Force also confirmed that authorities had kept the officer under surveillance before handing him over to law enforcement.

Police initially placed the officer in custody after his arrest. A court later sent him to judicial custody at Tihar Jail.

The investigation will determine whether the alleged disclosure compromised national security. It will also examine whether the information supported any hostile activity in India.

Officials are continuing to analyse digital communications and other evidence. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
