IAS officer’s son taken into custody for murder in Hyderabad
- Car driver Nagaraju found dead on a terrace of Sai Kalyani Residency at Yousufguda in Hyderabad. The Jubilee Hills police shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem. The post-mortem revealed that he was murdered. Nagaraju wife told police that her husband used to work as car driver at a house of an IAS officer. Based on CCTV footage, police found the deceased and the suspect entering the apartment. Deceased wife has identified the suspect as the son of the IAS officer.
Hyderabad: The son of an IAS official has been taken into custody by the Jubilee Hills police for his alleged involvement in the murder of a cab driver.
The body of B Nagaraju, a cab driver, was found stuffed in a plastic bag and kept on the terrace of an apartment in Yousufguda.
According to the police, the suspect Venkatesh and the victim had an argument on Friday. Venkatesh is suspected to have later stabbed Nagaraju to death and kept the body on the terrace. Local residents alerted the body when foul smell began emanating, following which the police found the body on Sunday and shifted it to OGH morgue.
Police are believed to have found a CCTV footage, which showed both Venkatesh and Nagaraju going in to the apartment premises, with only Venkatesh returning. It was on the basis of this footage that Venkatesh has been taken into custody.
The police have also recorded the statement of the suspect’s father, G. Venkateshwar Rao, an IAS officer with a State department here. Further details are awaited.
