He reportedly told Bhatti that Principal Secretary Rizvi and Excise Commissioner Harikiran acted beyond their remit and that the Commissioner did not heed ministerial directives.
Therefore, the minister sought to place his grievances on record at the highest level before decisions are taken.

Meanwhile, the escalating rhetoric has turned the administrative dispute into a political flashpoint, with the opposition attempting to corner the government.
