This ban has been included as a new provision in the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023. As part of this, steps have been taken such as cancelling the licenses to import products from Pakistan and not allowing the entry of any goods.

The ban is likely to have a significant impact on Pakistan’s economy. The Indian government will also try to justify this move on International platforms. Analysts believe that India, which follows a “zero tolerance’ policy on terrorism, has taken this step with the aim of increasing pressure on Pakistan through economic and trade channels, It can be said that India has sent a clear signal to counter the Pakistani government through this move.
