Thousands of people have taken to the streets in several major cities, including Tehran, chanting “Down with the dictator”.  This is the largest protest in Iran since the 2022 Mahsa Amini movement in 2022-23.  While there were protests against hijab laws at the time, there are now chants against Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s regime demanding the departure of the mullahs from the country.  They are also seen as the biggest challenge to the head of state since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.  (Maxim News)
