India Has Freedom: Can Buy Oil From Any Country: Russian Official Spokesperson

Kremlin/Internet/Hyderabad, Feb 5 (Maxim News): Dmitry Peskov, the official spokesman for the Russian presidential palace and the Kremlin, commented that India has the freedom to buy oil from any country in the world and that it is not new for India to resort to different crude oil suppliers. Peskov revealed that Indian refineries cannot completely stop oil purchases from Russia (India oil purchase rights).

“The shale oil exported by the US is of low grades. The gas is also of low condensate. In comparison, Russia supplies the higher grade, higher sulfur Urals. India will have to buy the lower grade oil from the US at a higher price. The alternative for Russia is not that easy. Russia supplies 1.5 to 2 million barrels of oil per day to India. America does not do so much,” said Igor Yushkov, a Russian national energy security expert (Russia on India oil imports).

“Russia is not the only supplier of crude oil to India (India Russia energy ties). That country has always been buying crude oil from other countries as well. All experts in the international energy sector know that. Furthermore, hydrocarbon trade between India and Russia is beneficial for both countries. The two countries should work together more in this field,” Dmitry Peskov hoped. (Maxim News)
