Pakistan has officially announced that it will conduct surface-to-surface missile tests on April 24 and 24 off the coast of Karachi. It has made it clear that this missile test will be conducted in its country’s exclusive economic zone. It is reported that this missile test is likely to increase tensions between India and Pakistan.

On the other hand, it seems that Pakistan has made this official statement on the missile test in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. However, Indian defence agencies are closely monitoring such actions by Pakistan. In that order, the Indian defence ministry and intelligence agencies have focused on Pakistan’s missile tests.

Analysts believe that these missiles could be tested as part of Pakistan’s Multiple Independently Targetable Reentry Vehicle (MIRV) capabilities. Official sources in India have said that they will carefully monitor these developments and take necessary steps.

On the other hand, Pakistan was on high alert after 26 people were killed in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. It moved the terrorist groups in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to safe areas because it felt that there was a possibility of surgical strikes in the area again. On the other hand, after Pakistan carried out a terrorist attack, india adopted its tough stance against that country. (Maxim News)
