Indian Engineering Congress Concludes

Hyderabad, Dec.29 (Maxim News): The three-day “34th  Indian Engineering Congress” organized by The Institution of Engineers India, Telangana State Centre, concluded on Sunday with Himachal Pradesh Governor Bandaru Dattatraya gave valedictory address.

Appreciating the efforts of IEI in field of Engineering, Dattatraya explained about the role of Engineers in shaping the society. He said Nagarjun Sagar Project stood as a testimony in the field of engineering. He also spoke about the technological advances made in the field of Mining, which he had himself witnessed during his visit to Ranchi. He also stated that the Recommendations of this Conference may be given to him so that he shall take up with the Centre for their implementation.

The meet was started in 2011 by Bangalore Centre of IEI. He felt happy for having organized the event on the occasion of centenary celebrations of IEI. Dr Rao said the IEI has over two lakh members, who were positioned in various departments and holding very important positions. The past students of the Centre, who form part of the Alumni, were felicitated and Mementos were presented in due recognition of the services rendered by them.

Dr D Hanumantha Chary, FIE, Chairman, Alumni Meet, TSC spoke at length about the Alumni and the IEI, TSC Centre. Er.T Anjaiah, FIE, Hon. Secretary. IEI, TSC donated Rs. 25,000/- towards the cause of Alumni. Maj.Gen S Bhattacharya, Dr Enti Ranga Reddy,FIE, Dr. Devendra Gill, FIE, Er Sisir Kumar Banerjee, FIE and Er Narendra Singh, President Elect and Dr TM Gunaraja, FIE, Imm. President participated in the event.

During the course of Valedictory Function, Dr. Rao explained in detail about the programs organized between 27-29 December. Dr Rao explained the role of IEI, Telangana State Centre in implementation of the prestigious Irrigation Projects, massive housing scheme, and Metro Rail Projects.

Women Engineers’ Meet, Memorial Lectures were also organized. Dr.S.Satyanarayana, Chairman, Technical Committee said that the IEI, TSC received 165 papers. Out of which, 50 % are from Industry and 50% are from Academia. Dr. TM Gunaraja, Imm. President, IEI and Er. Narendra Singh, FIE, President and Er.T Anjaiah, FIE, Hon. Secretary. IEI, TSC participated actively in all the programs that are organized today. Er T Anjaiah , Hon’ Secretary proposed Vote of Thanks. (Maxim News)
